Pamper ? Spoil ? Teach ? Punish ?

Everyone says terror two is a terrible age. Isaac is 17mths old now, I just find at times he is out of hand. Heard a friend of mine gave piece of advise, at this age, is useless to punish/beat them cause they are still young to understand what is NO/cannot.. Frm 2+ onwards, you can slowly teach them if they dont listen, beating/or using a cane might help.

Sigh, coaching a kid need skills but if you dont teach them the right way, they will never learn. Being a parent is nv easy, well, keep praying for God's guidance

I do agree with the advice that was given, spanking only serves to strain the bond between parent and child, and thus should only be used sparingly.

Discipline starts at birth, and it certainly does not have to be harsh. For example, we can lovingly guide a child's hand away from a fire if he stretches out to touch it.

For more details on positive discipline and the tools you can use, refer to http://www.attachmentparenting.org/principles/disc.php

btw, I am still trying to find out what works along the way too, and kids, being kids, they really do sometimes push the boundaries to try to see how firm a parent one is.

just sharing what makes sense... =).. hopes it can be of help to you
